Johnny Cupcakes- 0 Carbs! 0 Sugars! 0 Fat!

In one of my searches for cupcake paraphernalia, I came across a site called Johnny Cupcakes. Now you may not know this, but I have a sweet spot for men who cook, especially those that bake. So, I though could it really be a man who bakes cupcakes?
I was so intrigued as I clicked the link to this Johnny Cupcake's page. I just knew it would be some awesome cupcake bakery that boasted manly cupcakes flavors named after cars or video games or something.
To my surprize as the link opened up it was not a bakery at all, it was a clothing shop. I was instantly hungry  to know more about this Johnny Cupcakes guy. So I scrolled and I read and I scrolled some more. I mean really, what more could I want, this is the fusion of the two things I love most after my family... fashion and cupcakes, duh.
I must know more.

So, who is/what is this Johnny Cupcakes?

Johnny is a former teenage prankster and college dropout, who started out designing pens and buttons for bands and business. While working he would wear his Johnny Cupcakes tee shirts; people started asking for them and it took off from there. The logo for this cool company is a cupcake and cross bones, yup just like the skull and cross bones. Awesome!!!! They make clothing for men, women and children, or girls, guys, and kids as it says on their site. Using bakery boxes instead of bags to package their goods gives the feel of a real bakery. The size chart on their site is listed like nutritional facts. They even donned chef outfits and gave out real cupcakes for their first trade show. I am so in love with this idea.

Even though Johnny didn't turn out to be some great male cupcake baker, I'm glad I stumbled upon his site. it's cupcake couture for sure. If you don't aalready know about him it is a must that you check it out.
They have a blog as well.

Mamma got a new toy...

Pretty in pink!
I have joined the Kitchen Aid owners' club!!!!!!!
I've wanted a Kitchen Aid mixer for forever. My mommom has one and she swears by that thing.
I can't wait to see what kind of trouble we can get into together!
Oh... and talk about couture for the kitchen. Check out the apron that my fabulous mom and baby girl ordered for me from Jessie Steele. Check out the site they have some really cute and sexy aprons.
All I need is some pink suede platform pumps and I will be runway ready!

See... perfect right?

Baby Shower for Dilan

This weekend's BCC busy-ness took us to Baltimore, MD for a friends shower. We did the cutest boy color scheme of brown, blue, and green. Super cute! (A cute equivalent for a baby girl would be brown, yellow, and pink, very sweet.)
Anywho, Everything went well and the cupcakes and favors were a hit.

Better late than never...

I've been keeping busy while we were getting all dolled up. It took a while, but as I mentioned in Snowed in..., I had some V Day cupcake sets to make to be sold in a store. Well, then the snow storms hit and sadly, the cupcakes never made it to the store. But I sold each and every box anyway. Here's what they looked like.

Oh this old thing...

You may have noticed our new look here at Babycakes Couture.
You could say we've had a Mammalicious Makeover!
The fabulous Mammalicious Mamma revamped our site and gave it the designer look that a couture cupcake line deserves.
A zillion thanks to Amy of Mammalicious Finds for making our blog just as fashion forward as our cupcakes!

Random Acts of Kindness

I just received the most ispiring and motivating email from a woman that I've never met that was so full of sweetness I couldn't stop smiling. She didn't email me because she wanted to order anything or because she had a question. She simply wanted to tell me how much she'd enjoyed my cupcakes. How special is that.
Thanks Asheai : )

Check out her email below...

Hi,
You don’t know me. I was at an event about 3 weeks ago and had the opportunity to taste your cupcakes. The Margarita and Red Velvet were featured. I totally loved the cupcakes [taste, presentation, etc.] I love the name “babycakes” – very catchy and the business card in general.
I think you have a wonderful concept and just wanted to tell you so.
I’m not sure when I will be having a function but I will definitely hold on to your card and will hopefully get to taste your cupcakes again in the near future.
God Bless you and your endeavors.

Snowed In...

Snowed in again...
What else is there to do but bake cuppycakes :)

I am so excited to share that I've been asked to do some Valentine's Day treats for a small store in the city. This is a really big deal for BCC! I am going to do Red Velvet of course, maybe with some pretty pink cream cheese frosting, and some heart shaped pepperment and sugar cookies. I will definately post some pics of the finished products and packaging. Let me know if you have any other ideas.
Be back soon!
Smooches!
