So who knew that today, December 15th was National Cupcake Day? Isn't that awesome? And what's even more awsome is that my super thoughtful hubby just had an inkling that there was such a day, so he Googled it, today, just to find out that today is said day. So funny. He was so proud of himself. I hadn't seen any posts about this holiday, so I just thought I'd share. Hope you had a great Cupcake day!
I also wanted to Share with you my holiday flavors. I posted them on FB a while back, but I never posted them here. They are as follows~ Ginger- gingerbread cake with egg nog buttercream frosting
Candy Cane- Vanilla cake with peppermint buttercream and The Devil Wears Velvet- red velvet and vanilla cake swriled into one cupcake topped with cream cheese frosting
Here's Candy Cane, I'll post pictures of the other two later.

Quick Post...
I wanted to do a quick post because I am dead tired, but I just had to share this weekend's cupcakeyness. My second go at the cupcake bouquet couldn't have been better, and I tried out a new flower. I also introduced my newest flavor and it went over very well. I am so very proud of them all, hope you like! And just in case I don't get the chance to post again before the holiday, I hope you all have a wonderful family and food filled Thanksgiving! Smooches!

Look What I Found...
A good friend of mine is a Dollar Store Queen, she rocks when it comes to dollar store shopping. The other day she told me that she saw Paula Deen cupcake mix at her favorite dollar spot. We'll you know I headed straight for my nearest Dollar Tree and sure enough, there was Miss Paula Deen on the Dollar store shelf. I was so excited, I grabbed all three flavors! Then I thought what the heck am I doing, Dollar Store or not, I don't do box cake. But it's Paula Deen! That thought instantly took me back to my previous post Famous Cupcakes about Kim Kardashian's box mix; I never did order that mix.
I ended up buying just one box, I figured I would let the kids make cupcakes one weekend using the mix so I wouldn't waste it. All you need is oil, water, and eggs. I'm sure it will in no way compare to anything my Paula would make, but we'll give it a try. I'll let you know how they turn out.

So cute that it even says "From my kitchen to yours"

Flower Power...
This weekend I made my first cupcake cake. I had no idea what I would do, but I obliged and as usual I went to Google for inspiration. Once my creative juices started flowing I got down to business and look at the end result of my Flower Power Cupcake Cake!

A Domestic Goddess in Every Way
I cook, I bake, I scrapbook, I make jewelry, I mean I do all things crafty. Oh, and I sew. Maybe I don't actively sew, but I can sew. Same difference. Actually I haven't sewn anything in about 7 years, but it's just like riding a bike...right?
I have a wedding to attend on New Years Eve. My husband is in The wedding an he's wearing a tux, so you know what that means! I have to wear a gown! I am excited too because the wedding is at the The Merion Tribute House, where we got married 2 years ago. Yay!!
I haven't really tapped in to my fashion designer alter ego in a while. But I've run in to a dilemma that has motivated me to pick up my needle and thread. Whenever I have somewhere special to go, I meditate on what I want to wear. What, you don't meditate? What look am I going for? What's my inspiration? Once I have a grasp on the look I hit up Google for some reality to my fantasy. I search red carpet looks, and magazine covers. Lucky and Instyle magazines are the best for this type of research. But as usual Google never lets me down. I searched for a long sleeved evening gown and after I weeded through all of the horrible MOB gowns I found this amazing BCBG jersey dress.
It looks so simple and glam at the same time, and it's jersey, so it's probably super comfy. Now here's the catch. This dress is online on "final cut", basically meaning clearance. Anything on sale at BCBG is not returnable. What do you mean I can't return it? So, if I order this dress and it is a terrible fit I can't send it back? I'm not taking that chance. But it's perfect, and I want it soooo bad.
Then The light bulb went off. I was a fashion student darn it! I used to sew and design all the time. I'll make that dress myself, humph. Who needs BCBG anyway. Not me! I'm a Domestic Goddess, I can do this.
Now as I said before, it's been a while. I mean, I designed the dresses for my girls for my wedding, but I didn't make them. I'm really nervous, so I better get started soon, just in case I need to run out and buy a dress. I'll keep you posted. Wish me luck!

Count them, 1...2...3 cupcakes
I started this blog in January as a New Year's resolution in conjunction with getting serious about BCC. I tried a couple of different blogging start ups and fell in love with Blogger. It was so easy to navigate. I tried a few templates and settled on one with polka dots in the background. It was cute, but it didn't say what I wanted Babycakes Couture to say. I consulted a few firms and even word of mouth recommendations to spruce up my site. Either they were too expensive for me, or they were unreliable or not able to deliver on my vision. One day I was perusing Party Box Design and just admiring the beautiful setup of the blog and the web site. I scrolled to the bottom and saw Amy Shepard's name. I clicked it and it took me to her site Mammalicious Finds, which I love. I didn't see anything about a blog design business but I took a chance anyway and emailed her. She responded that she no longer did it, and if in the future she wasn't too busy with all the other stuff she does, besides being a mom, she would let me know. I was disappointed, but how could I blame her. Well a few weeks later she emailed me to see if I was still interested and of course I was.
After a couple of emails discussing my vision for my site Amy sent me a few mock ups, I had a tweak here and there, but for the most part Amy hit the nail right on the head. And that's how the new Babycakes Couture was born.

Well, now Amy has a new full blown blog design company called 3 Cupcakes Blog Design. They have an awesome cupcake concept for ordering services, I'm so into it. They even have Premade Cupcake Packages if you're in a crunch. With the premades looking the way that they do, you can imagine how good the packages made just for you would be. I love my site, but I'm struggling not to revamp BCC again. we're not even a year old and I'm starting to want a 3 Cupcakes redo.

I do..
I recently tried my hand at something I've wanted to do for a long time now. A cupcake bouquet.
I was hired for an office bridal shower and given free range to be creative. This was my chance. I had it all mapped out it my head, but then I got nervous. I've never done this before. I don't even know where to begin. Those were the thoughts that were running through my head. I decided that it could only go one of two ways. Either I would do it and do it well or I would try it and fail miserably. I don't do failing miserably, or failing at all for that matter... so I went for it. And I couldn't be happier with the way it turned out.

The bouquet is made up of red velvet cupcakes, and is surrounded by mini strawberry cupcakes with strawberry cream cheese frosting rosettes. So pretty!!!
And check out my topper... I love love love it!!!
The bride was so pleased that she packed it right up and took it home. It's a good thing they had the minis.

I’m usually not into domestic wines, I prefer Italian; not that I’m some fancy schmancy wine connoissseur with my pinky up. I just know what I like. Anyway, California’s Cupcake Vinyard has peaked my curiosity, and I bet you know why. How cute is that; Cupcake Vinyards. I first saw the commercial this weekend and I was so excited that I went straight to their website and to my delight they even have a Red Velvet wine. Now, I am also not normally a fan of red wine, but this description got me for sure…
Red Velvet is a blend of Zinfandel, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. It's reminiscent of a blackberry chocolate cupcake with a mocha coulis.
I’m sold!
I mean I’ve had a Cabernet Sauvignon that I liked, and Zinfandel is ok so the combination might be something special. Either way I am definitely ordering a bottle. And I’ll admit it, I’m only buying it because it’s called Cupcake. I had plenty of maketing courses when I was in school so I know all about branding and target markets, blah, blah, blah. Whatever, all i know is I want cupcake wine. I just hope it’s not bad.
Too bad I can’t order it; no shipping to PA. I’ll find it though. Somebody has to carry it nearby. I’ll let you know. I’m on a hunt for cupcake wine.
My Day with Bobby Flay...
I had the most amazing day yesterday. Besides the weather being absolutely beautiful, I knew that one of my birthday wishes would come true. I met Bobby Flay yesterday!!!!!!!
If you can recall my birthday post, I made three wishes. I wished for a cupcake truck, to meet Paula Deen and to meet Bobby Flay. Well how about that, it only took four months for me to get that wish! I woke up two weeks ago to an email from Williams and Sonoma, I so love that store, inviting me to a meet and greet with my Bobby to promote his new Throwdown cook book. I immediately called and registered for my spot.
When I got there the line was pretty long, but the Williams and Sonoma staff were great, they made if fun and they fed us. All I have to say is Butternut Squash Soup with caramelized onions and cornbread croutons, YUM!!!!! Now, I have to make one suggestion to W&S for next time. If you’re gonna serve soup with caramelized onions, please hand out mints afterward. I was not trying to meet my Bobby with questionable breath. Ewww! Luckily the woman in front of me had gum. They gave out little books and recipe cards. It was great. And before I knew it, it was time to go in. I instantly got extremely nervous, I started sweating and had to pee so bad, I thought I might have to get out of line. It would be horrible to meet Bobby with wet pants. I had to pull myself together, and after a few moments of internal insanity, I was fine.
Once I got inside the store there was still a little bit of a wait before my group got to interact with him so I had time to take in the sites and make a little wish list.
Enough window shopping.
As I got closer to Mr. Flay I noticed that there were people assisting him with greeting and signing books. It was like an assembly line. They were herding people like cattle. Book, camera, sign, stop, smile, flash, good bye. Oh no, that was not going to work for me. I needed a moment. I need the 3 minute conversation that I’d rehearsed in my head on the way to the mall. Finally it was my turn and I handed off my book to the girl on the right and my camera to the girl on the left. And I did not wait to be invited I walked right up to my Bobby and said "Hello!" He said hello back, very relaxed like he wasn't as excited to see me as I was to see him. I said "I brought you a present." I was looking for a better reaction than I initially received. He looked up and said "You did?" I said "Yes, red velvet cupcakes." Well his face lit up and he let out a grunt of excitement and turned to the crowd and said "Take note people, take note. This is how you do it" I told him that I made them for him and that my card was in the box. He said they looked beautiful and that he could smell them through the box. I also told him that I wished to meet him for my birthday. He said he was flattered and glad that it came true! Awesomeness! Then he gave me a hug. And he smelled good. I’m crushing on him a little bit; I better stop before the hubby gets jealous. But really, he was super sweet and funny. That jealous hubby said he wasn’t going to eat my cupcakes and that he would think I was a stalker and trying to poison him or something. Jealous I tell you. Anyway, he seemed genuinely happy about them. We started posing for the picture and he said wait... he turned around and put the box on the table and said "We have to style this picture correctly" and pulled out a cupcake and held it up for the picture. I almost melted into a pile of cream cheese icing. It was a great Day!

This is a Cornucopia Cake Pan
I'll take one of these please for my Thanksgiving spread!
Beautiful!!
This is a like a little muffin pan but it shapes like nuts and acorns. It is so cool and if you can see in the bottom right corner they displayed them in and Apothecary Jar. Love it!!!
This is the kiddie birthday display. There are cupcake liners and toppers and plates. A pirate ship for the boys and a princess castle for the girls. The castle was amazing. I think I'll be ordering it. You never know when you'll need a good castle.

I'm so excited...
I cannot wait to share this with you. I am about to do something so exciting I can hardly hold it in. Just know that birthday wishes do come true, even when you tell them.

Whooo, I'm tired...
Today I finished one really big order and realized how much BCC is taking over the Ford household. I actually had to throw away a few things in my refridgerator to make room for cupcake. Well, they probably should have been thrown away anyway, but that's not the point. I was nervous that they all wouldn't fit for their overnight stay. I removed one of the shelves and it all worked out. Every one had a place to sleep.
Anyway, all this cupcake madness was because of a baby girl named Zoie Amore. Her Aunt and Grandmother threw her Mommy and Daddy a shower for her. For the pink, brown and cream shower they ordered Scarlet (my red velvet) and a custom order of my Plain Jane (Vanilla pound with Vanilla buttercreme). Instead on vanilla buttercreme they opted for strawberry cream cheese icing to keep with their color scheme. What an amazing combo! My strawberry cream cheese frosting tastes just like Breyer's strawberry ice cream; one of my favorites! Super yummy if I do say so myself! Oh and by the way... I made a new discovery. An upside down sundae glass makes and awesome individual cupcake stand. Very elegant! Who knew!
But then in the AM, they took over my dining room table and the kids had to eat breakfast in the living room, which you know was not a problem for them. Why do kids like to eat in the living room? Because they know they're not supposed to I guess.
One last thing, the lovely ladies that placed this order also requested a small red velvet cake for the top of there tiered stand, not knowing that BCC only does cupcakes and cookie pops. At first I said no, but I can't stand saying no. But I absolutely hate making cakes. It's too much pressure. They have to be perfect and these days with all the fondant, I just don't have the attention span for all of that. Any who, I took on the challenge and did a 6 inch layer cake; red velvet with pink cream cheese icing. It turned out really cute especially once I added the cutesy little topper I made for them. Love it! It turned out so well that I'm considering adding it to my menu, naming it, what else but The Baby Cake! I'm still undecided though, cakes are hard.

Kids... Gotta love 'em
I love that Chik-fil-A gives books in their kids meals. Well, they just took it to another level. My son received, "If you Give a cat a Cupcake." Of course we already have that book, so I thought Zaire would be mad. Instead my sweet little 5 year old son says to me "It's ok mom, you can have this one since you like cupcakes so much." How sweet is that? I love that little boy!

Dreams...
When I sleep I see visions of the Babycakes Couture Boutique Cupcakery. And this chair has to be a main character. I know the layout, the colors, and what all the furniture will look like. Once in a while when I am awake I see things and I just want to scoop them up and save them for the grand opening. Today was one of those days.
I was walking along the isle in Marshalls, minding my own business when I saw this vision off pink dreaminess out of the corner off my eye. In that instant I knew just what I would do with that chair. I would position two of them in the front of the shop with a small espresso finished coffee table topped with fashion magazines between them. That's where I would sit with my clients to discuss custom orders for their events.
That happened in my brain in a matter of seconds. Does that make me crazy? I hope not. It's soooo vivid. I cant wait 'til those dreams become reality.

Too Cute...
All of my friends and family know how much I love cupcakes so when ever they see cutsie little cupcake stuff they get it for me.
For my birthday a good friend of gave me the cutest bowl and I used it for the first time. It's heavy ceramic and very deep. The perfect bowl for cereal. Too bad I don't like cereal. I guess it will be good for pretzels and ice cream too. That's my favorite!

Oooh look what I found...
I was in Target today picking up some last minute things for our Trip to Disney World next week. Yay!!! we're going to Disney. My kiddies are super excited! Anyway, first, I found the best deal, a four peice carryon luggage set for $39.99. I mean how great is that? I's not cheapy at all, plain black, sturdy and spacious, for $39.99. You gotta love Target!!
But, that's not it... I found the cutest cupcake luggage tag. I'm so excited to hang it on my new bag. It's soooo cute! You like?

If at first you don't succed...
You try, and try again. right? Isn't that what they say. I made my first attempt at a sugar free red velvet cupcake. Hmm, it was well, not good or bad. It baked up much differently than my regular ones do and it baked away from the cupcake liner which was annoying, and it was heavy, like literally heavy when you picked it up. It didn't really taste like much of anything to me. The hubby said it wasn't bad and he is very picky so I guess it was ok. I definitely missed the sugar, it was just kind of flat. My grandmother is not diabetic, but she has been instructed to watch her sugar intake so I did it for her mostly, but people always ask me if I do any sugar free options so I figured I better get on it asap. The first try was not a complete flop, but I know i can do better.
Now the sugar free cream cheese icing... that's another story. It was just bad! Bad I tell you. I think I have my work cut out for me there, but I'm up for the challenge.

Margaritaville...
When I smell sunscreen or watermelon I'm instantly overcome with the fun and free spirited feeling that to me is summer. The same thing happens when I taste one of my margarita lime cupcakes. They are sooooo good, if I do say so myself. Margaritas were my favorite drink for years. They are just fun and yummy. There are so many versions of it now, but my favorite is still a tradtional margarita on the rocks with salt... Yummo! I could go for one right now.
So for my margarita cupcakes I took the traditional route as well. They have a pinch more salt than the average cupcake, just to help kick up the maragarita flavor, and they're made with Bacardi Margarita mix. I top them with a light green lime meringue butter cream, a jelly lime slice, and a dusting of glitter sugar (it didn't show up well on the pictures).
I promise you one bite and you are on the beach with your Margarita in hand. Don't be surprised if you have sand in your shoes, by the time you finish your cupcake!
BTW- These are minis!

Fashion Week is Coming, Fashion Week is Coming!!!!!
This time of year is so exciting for me. I know that lately I haven't blogged too much about the fashion side of Babycakes Couture, but this time of year I definitely have split personalities. I am perusing the Internet as usual but instead of looking for cupcake inspiration, I try to find anyway to get a sneak peek at this year's looks. It's so exciting to think about all of the worlds greatest designers descending upon New York City to present their vision of Spring 2011 to the world. I cannot wait for the shows. I am so hype for Zac Posen, Lela Rose and of course Vera Wang. Vera is my favorite. I live for wedding gowns and evening wear and Ms. Vera is the reigning queen of wedding and there is no one else above her. Although I have fallen in love love love with Marchesa. I wore Marchesa for my wedding and it was an amazing gown; exactly what I was looking for.
I've loved fashion for as long as I can remember. I made evening gowns for my Barbie dolls. I can even remember being little, going to doctor appointments with my mom and swiping the Harper's Bazaars and Vogue Magazines form the waiting areas. I would get in trouble when we got home, but I didn't care. I would just go in my room and just ogle over page after page of the beautiful fashions. It would be so inspiring, I would whip out my book and start sketching. Oh and when the Bold and the Beautiful first started coming on, and they would release their collections...sooo exciting.
Any way... If you're interested check out Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week to get the scoop on Fashion Week from the schedule of shows to info about the previous years' shows and collections. Next year hopefully i will get approved to attend a few shows as a member of the press or something. Maybe I'll volunteer. Either way I'm there.

Hmm...
Okay, so I may have rushed in judgment of "Cupcake Wars." I just finished watching last week's episode and I kinda fell in love. This was a really sweet challenge and I loved the winner so much. She and her sister's story is so much like my own that it was scary. And the fact that self taught bakers beat out Kara, of the Kara's Cupcakes empire, gave me so much inspiration. Maybe it was just a great episode. It made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
With that said, I really can't stand that French judge. He is depressing and mean. Like, it's a friggin cupcake. What do you want from it. Cupcakes are supposed to make people happy and nostalgic. He takes all of the happy out of cupcakes. And the host is slightly annoying, and I know he's just trying to be funny with all of his cupcake and baking references, but he's just not. I can imagine being in that kitchen frantic with time running out and I have to keep hearing him yell stuff across the set. I'd just want to smack him. I'm sorry.
All in all I guess the show is growing on me, but I still can't say that I love it, I will just retract my previous statement that is sucks and move on from here.
DC Cupcakes hasn't disappointed. It's entertaining and they are funny. A little bit more of a mess than I thought they would be, but it's cute. They kind of don't really have it together, but who does, and it always comes together in the end. Well at least in the three episodes I've seen.
I'll keep watching both!

There is hope...
As excited as I was for Cupcake Wars, it saddens me to have to say this. That show SUCKS!!! I's awful, almost painful to watch. I would elaborate, but there are just too many reasons. That french judge for one, but I'm not going to go there.
But alas, there is hope for reality cupcake TV. Tonight TLC premiers DC Cupcakes. It's different from CW as it's not a competiton, but I'm hoping that it will satisfy my craving for sweet TV!!
Back to back episodes tonight at 10 on TLC.

Milk and cookies... but not really
You know I’m all about the cupcake, but, sometimes a girl just needs and tall glass of milk and some good old chocolate chip cookies.
As much as we love these sweet treats, we can’t indulge as much as we might like to. After all, like old the saying goes; A moment on the lips, a lifetime on the hips.
Well, my new favorite site and blog of the moment dispels all fears of waistband expansion and allows you to treat yourself to all of the cupcakes and cookies you’d like.
Milk and Cookeez- a yummy bath shoppe
You will not believe your eyes, you will be so tempted to taste these body pastries, but please don’t. They are soaps people. And bath bombs and lip scrubs. They are the cutest little inedible bits of happiness I’ve ever seen. I feel so happy just looking at the site. Everything looks so yummy and makes me feel like a kid. I have visions of my future cupcake boutique and I see Milk and Cookeez items being big sellers there.
These sweet treats are not just for you. Share them. If you have one of those kids who just never wants to take a bath, one purchase from Milk and Cookeez might make your life so much easier. What kid wouldn’t want to wash up with a Popsicle, or an ice cream cone? Seriously, I would love to take a bath with a cupcake. And with the high quality ingredients Milk and Cookeez uses, you might want to hide these goodies from the kids and keep them all to yourself.
Check out the site and the blog; you’ll love it!
Oh and the super cute site is another product of that Mammalicious Amy Sheppard. No wonder I loved it so much. I love her work!
Enjoy!

Cupcakes everywhere...
So I was watching videos on MTV tonight, which I rarely do; my 12 year old made me do it. Promise!
Anyway the cutest video came on, Katy Perry's California Gurls I was so excited to see so much pink and the Candy Land reference, loved it! As I watched more and started bopping my head, to my delight... there were cupcakes!!!!! Cupcake bikinis and cupcakes in the background, oh and you can't forget about Snoop Dogg in his three piece cupcake suit. Serious a cupcake suit. Now that's some cupcake couture for ya! I wonder what I'd have to do to get my husband into one of those.
It's such a cute video, love the song too!

Is it just me or...
Was Cupcake Wars a little bit of a disappointment? I'm not sure what I was expecting, but I was a little bored. I know it was the first episode and all, so I won't make any assumptions. The next episode better have me on the edge of my seat or I will not be happy. I think maybe I was looking for a cross between Iron Chef America and Food Network Challenge. It just wasn't that intense. Although, the set and the backdrops are super cute, and in the end they did come up with some awesome cupcakes.
Next Sunday, I'll give Cupcake Wars a second chance. I should say Monday, because right now my Sundays at 10 are devoted to flipping between Army Wives and Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami.
Thank goodness for DVR ; )

Yay Food Network!!!
Tonight is the premier of Cupcake Wars on Food Network. I have dreamed of this show every time I watched an episode of Food Network Challenge. They must have heard me begging.
I am so excited! From the looks of it, it should be a really good series.
Cupcake Wars:
It’s cupcake vs. cupcake in Food Network’s tastiest competition yet! Each week on Cupcake Wars, four of the country’s top cupcake bakers face off in three elimination challenges until only one decorator remains... more
Food Network usually doesn't disappoint so I don't expect anything other than yummy greatness from this show. I'll be on the couch, cupcake in hand at 10:00 tonight.

Happy Birthday to Me!!!
It’s my birthday today! Birthdays are so much fun. No matter how old I get I still feel like a little princess on my birthday. People just treat you nicely when it’s your birthday. It’s like how they treat you when you’re preggers- and then as soon as you have the baby it’s back to normal. Either way, I love birthdays so much.
I have three things that I would like to wish for today. I know they say if you tell someone then they won’t come true, but I don’t believe that.
Now, these are not the Miss America wishes; of course I would love for there to be world peace or to end world hunger, but, this wish is not about that (although I do wish they would get this oil situation under control). Anyway, my first wish is for the famous, most awesome and super fabulous Ms. Oprah Winfrey to taste one of my cupcakes, and love it; because God knows if she hated it I would be devastated. My second wish is actually two wishes in one. I want oh so badly to meet Ms. Paula Deen and Mr. Bobby Flay. They are my absolute favorite Food Network personalities. I would give Paula Deen the biggest hug ever. She just seems so huggable! And that Bobby Flay, he’s so cute; I want a Cupcake Throw-down with him. I would kick his butt! He’s huggable too; I love them both.
Ok, now my third wish is something that I am very serious about and I am going to bake my little heart out to make it come true. I WANT A CUPCAKE TRUCK!!!!!!!! I want a truck so bad. It would be the cutest little couture cupcake mobile you’ve ever seen. Pink and brown just like the site; until then, I will continue on the path that has treated me soooo well thus far. But, one day soon you will see a sweet little pink cupcake truck rolling around the streets of Philly and I will be behind the wheel. Can’t wait! Honk your horn and wave when you see me!

Hi Guys!!!!!
I miss my blog family!
I have been swamped. We are moving to a new house and that is no small task. It’s bad enough moving my stuff, but the kids have a load of crap of their own that needs to be dealt with. I think a trash can is the perfect place for it, though I am sure they would disagree. The big move is this weekend, so after we are settled, it will be back to business as usual here.
Busy as I am, I had to take a few moments to share with you some great news.
The pink flag has been planted and victory is so sweet!
Thanks to my teams fundraising efforts and the giving hearts of friends, family and strangers alike, Babycakes Couture for the Cure raised $1031.00 in the 2010 Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure Fundraising campaign. We surpassed or goal of $1000 and the race is still on. The site will be up until June 1, 2010 tallying all of the donations. So if you’re saying “aww man, I meant to do that,” you still can! Or if you know someone who wants to donate, spread the word! Here’s the link once again, just in case you lost it!
Babycakes Couture for the Cure Team Page
The day of the actual race (or shall I say walk because there was no racing going on in our group) our team stepped out in true Babycakes Couture fashion sporting our custom team tees; with of course a cupcake on them, topped with Breast Cancer Ribbon Sprinkles. Thanks to a little company called Custom Tees right outside of Philly. They cranked them out for us at the last minute. They did an excellent job. Thanks Custom Tees!
It was a great day!
Now back to my boxes!

Julie and Julia...
I know I'm late and everyone who cared to see it has probably already done so and blogged about it, but I feel the need to share. Yesterday, I actually sat down and watched a movie. Weeks ago my husband so lovingly placed Julie and Julia in our Netflix queue just because he thought it was something I'd like. I thought that was extremely sweet. Any way I never took the time to watch it, until yesterday. I loved it! Amy Adams was too cute! Meryl Streep did an amazing job, as usual, playing Julia Child. I remember being a little girl and wondering why my mom was laughing so hard at Saturday Night Live when they would do the Julia Child impressions. One day I actually saw her show and it was hysterical. I had to be about 10 or 11 years old. She was amazing to me and she reminded me of my grandmother. She was a statuesque woman and she said whatever was on her mind. She cooked with such ease, as if it were this natural talent that you either have or you don't. Just like my Mommom!
She is the reason I love cooking shows. We didn't have cable so I knew nothing of Food Network growing up. I lived for Sunday afternoons with "Yan Can Cook" and "Ciao Italia" and all those other shows on PBS. Except that vegetarian lady. I hated that one, she always made some gross looking stuff with peanuts.
I guess that was the beginning of my love affair with food TV.
Back to Julie and Julia, it was just an all around good movie and a great way to spend a kid-less Sunday afternoon.
Bon Appetit
